General Question

Any ideas of something related to Star Wars (the 4th movie aka the first) that would be appropriate for a 5/6 year-old boy? He's not supposed to have guns and anything I've thought of knitting is for winter. His birthday is in the summer and I'm trying to think of something for my oldest nephew.

I'm leaning towards a lego set and not caring if the storm troopers have blasters in their hands or not. :)

No guns? Does that mean no lightsabers either? That does create a challenge.

The Legos are a good idea, but does the child have any interest in cooking (or eating)? Williams-Sonoma has a fun line of Star Wars-themed cooking stuff, from aprons to pancake molds.

There are tons of books about the Star Wars characters aimed at kids! There are styles for all sorts of readers. Some are more comic-book like adventure stories, but some are more about the SW Universe -- the ships, the alien races, the planets, etc. I had some of those when I was a kid and I loved them!
