Tummy and Vacation

Saw the tummy doctor yesterday. Before he came in I got to overhear a conversation with one of the nurses regarding patients who called in about their medications. It was really quite funny. I know he would react the same way if I had asked these questions.

No new tests to take this year. I may not need another colonoscopy or the other tests for about 8 more years unless I get worse. My medicine is the same. His office took some blood to check my CBCs and liver enzymes. I lost 4 pounds since last year. My ob/gyn and he are friends so we were laughing about what my ob/gyn said about him.

I've booked my flight for my October vacation. There is no turning back now! Well, there could be but it's not likely. :) Now I must figure out what my Halloween costume will be this year. The Magic 8 Ball was a big hit last year because it was an interactive costume.

BLEARGH!

I haven't gone swimsuit shopping in years. Yesterday I went shopping for some workout clothes since I'm starting a 4-week power yoga class tonight. I think the manufacturers have the clothes sized two sizes smaller than they say they are. Normally I'll wear a XL for my top. I couldn't even get the bra tank tops in XL at Kohl's past my shoulders. At Target I at least found things that fit. I can wear them when I grow another four to six inches. The lighting in the dressing room combined with a pair of shorts was just hideous. In all I found a pair of shorts (more comfortable for working out than my regular shorts but skintight) and a short sleeve top. The clothes cost less than the sticky mat I bought. Even though I could wear the shorts with the shirt I bought or a big t-shirt, the sight in the dressing room just put me off wearing shorts for a long time.

I'm saving the shorts for when I work out with Bob.

So if any females want to make themselves feel bad about the way they look, try on some workout clothes.

Kinda Normal Thursday

During the normal course of the day I walked 1.77 miles. I gained a few pounds during my vacation but I've lost them again. I haven't really stepped up my activity. I think it's from the large amount of water I've been drinking. I purchased the blue water bottle from FlyLady and I love it with one exception. It would be nice if it fit in the cup holder of my car. When it starts rolling around on the passenger seat or the floorboard I worry about water spilling out (even though it hasn't happened).

This year we are celebrating Christmas a little early (November 19th) with my great-nieces and great-nephews. We originally agreed on this because my husband and I were supposed to be in Ecuador for the holiday. After our plans changed, my mother still wanted to go ahead with it. There are now four of them and so far only one "bad apple". By that, I mean jealous, selfish and doesn't like to share. By, that might be different when the teenage years hit, huh? Just about the only time she sees them they are all together so she doesn't get to know them individually and that many kids between the ages of 1 and 7 really frazzle her nerves. My mother is a quiet woman but likes to feel like someone is around. She was a stay at home mom and often kept the television running so she'd have company. I sometimes find myself doing that too when my husband is gone but I try my best to turn it off if I'm not going to be watching it. During the last two months I've picked up a few things for two of them but I really don't think they're all that great so I'm trying to come up with ideas. From FlyLady's page I got a great gift idea for my mother and my sister-in-law. Love jars. Each one will be filled with 52 happy memories or reasons why they are loved.

Work went well. Our temp's last day is tomorrow and the full-time person starts on Monday. Twice this week I've left at 6pm.

I haven't wanted to get up in the mornings - I think I'm trying to pack too much into my day by staying up too late (like right now). I want to stop at Tim Horton's on the way to work tomorrow.

Oh, and I noticed yesterday while I was looking for inexpensive gas... the old Tim Horton's on King that's been turned into a Thai restaurant called Thai Thai was packed. Granted, it was the dinner hour but I can't remember the last time I saw 11 cars in the parking lot (they have about 15 parking spaces).

I Can't Believe It's October

I've finished reading another book, watched some interesting movies, taken some naps with Zilla, worked a lot of hours, and lost 4 pounds. I've figured out my costume for the party this weekend and I will work on it over the next two days. Spent some time with my brother's wife which was eye-opening as always. I learned I can just ask her what she wants for her birthday and I'll actually get an answer. Ask me what I want and I won't know what to say. :)

This weekend I marked off a lot of my items from my "to do" list but it seems like it's never-ending. I've lost my USB drive somewhere during all of this cleaning. Today would have been a great day for writing and I should have taken advantage of that.

Instead I took great delight in lying on the couch and using Zilla as a footwarmer. I'll look for the USB drive some more tomorrow.
