Halfway Through the Work Week

Remember that short story book I just finished reading? Mothers and Other Monsters? It's up for The Story Prize. Usually it's my husband who finds me books that get nominated for awards and prizes. I never find them on my own. I guess I can't say never anymore, can I?

I'm about halfway done with The Reader. I will be seeing movies on Thursday and Friday but it's likely I'll finish it over the weekend.

I was in bed at a reasonable hour last night (midnight) and slept mostly without incident. I woke up a few times but I'm not quite sure why. Maybe it was just out of habit that I woke up. This morning I didn't want to get out of bed. There is snow and some frost on all the cars in the parking lot. The apartment was 72 degrees when I woke up.

I've been thinking this winter I'll probably bring many of my lunches to work. I just don't want to go out into the cold and the bonus is that it saves us some money. Today should be partly cloudy with some snow flurries. Thursday we're expecting snow and that night is a winter storm watch. I keep forgetting to ask my husband if he wants a new snow shovel this year but I will just buy one. We've had the same one the entire time we've been married and it's just a little thing with a bent corner so it's more useful for breaking ice on the pavement then actually removing snow.

I'm going to take the plunge this week and post some things for sale on e-bay.
