Weekend Movies and Books

I started a journal entry earlier today but the web browser ate it. So here is my update!

Saturday we ate lunch at The Rusty Bucket. As unappetizing as that may sound, the food is better than eating a rusty bucket. We went to Half Price Books since they were having their extra 20% off sale this weekend. Then we spent the rest of the afternoon and evening at the movies. We saw Cellular, Wimbledon, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, and THX 1138. We could have watched a few more but my tummy was rumbly and I wanted some real food.

We went to Barns and Noble where we bought a few more books and then headed home. Oh, and my husband managed to drop his palm pilot on a tiled floor which has messed up the crystal display. More of the screen keeps coming back but I'm not sure how permanent that might be.

I found a message on my pager and a message on the answering machine from one of our support specialists. It seems an old customer of ours experienced some flooding and wanted help with getting their PCs up and running again. If approved by the services manager I might have to make a trip to the office. Yech.

The support specialist and I talked and he said that until that authorization came in there was no point in my coming in "just in case" to find a letter of billing authorization. I've set my pager off of vibrate in case I get paged again. Today our shopping started at another Half Price Books. I found some shrink-wrap software books I can use at work. My husband found a few books for himself. I looked for things for my great-nieces and great-nephews but there wasn't anything I found of interest.

We went to Best Buy and CompUSA to price new PDAs. The crystal display on my husband's Palm comes back in places depending on where you touch the back. That isn't good! We also looked for the latest EQ Expansion and for a mini-USB cable for our digital camera. This took a while as we also went to Media Play. We found the EQ Expansion there.

We also stopped off at a library in that area. I got some books on tape (I have a road trip on Tuesday) and I had to return some books.

After the library we could return to the movies. We saw Mr. 3000 and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. Of all the movies we watched, I think Wimbledon was my favorite.

That's all for now!

How was THX 1138? I'm a big George Lucas fan and have never seen it.

I thought it was okay. I did fall asleep though for a portion of it and didn't lose any of the plot though.

The version we saw was the tinkered one where George Lucas went back and added in special effects into the backgrounds. My husband had seen the original version and enjoyed it more.
