I'm a little bit behind in posts for the last few days. Sorry!
Friday we went out and saw The Family Stone. I liked it alright. We tried to go to the Barley's downtown for dinner but ended up at the barbecue one closer to us. I had the yummiest barbecue salmon. My husband said I inhaled it.
We ran some errands yesterday and went to Half Price Books. I should be mad that more books have been added to my "To Read" pile but I'm not. We went to the $2 theater and saw Pride and Prejudice. I haven't seen more than a few minutes of Colin Firth as the definitive Mr. Darcy but I thought the performances were fine. Donald Sutherland made me cry at the end. People who watch him in Commander in Chief should be forced to watch him in this if they think he's an evil person.
Yesterday evening was spent with some of our crazy Danish friends. It seems many of the Danish films we like have some of the same people working together repeatedly. Adam's Apples was no exception. There is one scene where birds are being shot from the apple tree and something goes wrong. (You just know it's coming when the shooting starts.) I'd think about that scene and laugh and laugh each time I thought about it. It's going to make me smile for days.
We spent the last ten minutes of 2005 flipping between channels. Channel 4 had Carson Daley who was the straight man to Wanda Sykes. She was pretty hilarious. Channel 6 had Ryan Seacrest and Dick Clark. It was sad hearing Dick Clark do the count down to 2006. Channel 28 had Regis Philbin. Being the Notre Dame fan he is he mentioned to Donald Trump that on Monday they'd watch the Notre Dame/OSU football game together.
One of my employees invited me to an open house he and his partner are having today. I want to go but I don't want to go. My husband doesn't care for many social situations so we probably won't go.
The car that wouldn't start is still at AAA. It needs the engine plugs, engine wires and possibly the engine coils replaced. Even then it may not work. So we have enough money for the repairs but if it doesn't work we're out that money and still looking for a car. We're going to borrow a car from my in-laws while the grandparents are in Florida which will let us save some money for another car. The Dominican Sisters should have more used cars available in March. Hopefully we won't get turned down for a car loan like we were this summer.
There's more to catch up on but all of a sudden my back feels funny and not so suddenly Zilla is whining to be let out.
