NaNoWriMo Day Seven

I organized a write-in at the Panera down the street for 6pm. I surfed the internet until someone approached me about it. She had been there for about 20 minutes before she saw my NaNoWriMo Write-In sign. I made one because people were having problems identifying other NaNo participants in town.

We chatted for about 15 minutes about our novels and how things were going and then we started writing together. I sat with my laptop and she sat at a nearby table with her notebook. This is her third year. She "won" the first year, talked others into doing it last year and stopped at 25k words. This year she's thinking of a goal of a laptop when she reaches 25k words.

The evening was a productive one. My main character moved into his apartment and got to taste Skyline Chili for the first time. That was my ending scene so I was hungry when I got home. I tried some State Fair mini corn dogs which smelled better than they tasted. I guess I just wasn't in the mood.

Final word count at the end of the day: 14,552.

My next reward is a writing magazine subscription when I reach 15,000. I'm really pushing for the 25,000 though. My reward is a NaNoWriMo t-shirt and they're starting to run out of sizes...
