Movie Watching Weekend

1. Saw The Grand Master. It had the atmosphere and stylization of Wong Kar Wai. But the editing/construction wasn't to my liking. It was "Oh, let's show Ip Man before the war, how he ended up in Hong Kong, and oh, we have to wrap this up so we'll just tell you he was a good teacher and Bruce Lee was his most famous student."
2. Next up was The World's End which starts off as a sad little movie but ends up with a lot of laughter. I am constantly surprised with Simon Pegg's speedy feet. In movie after movie he's supposed to be an out of shape loser. But he can run his butt off.
3. The Other Man was a drama with Liam Neeson, Laura Linney and Antonio Banderas. They were all fine in their parts but it was a sad, sad movie which I wasn't in the mood for.
4. Paradise Lost 3:Purgatory was something on the DVR from a year or more ago. It certainly seemed like the West Memphis 3 were innocent. Without question, the police work was sloppy.

I'll be watching Atonement soon. Loved the novel.
