Morning Walk

This morning hubby and I woke up early. I don't know if it's because of excitement or what, but I could not go back to sleep.

I wasn't as awake as I thought I was when a man asked if he could see my baby and the words made no sense until he asked a second time. Sammy got some scritches.

Walking up to the house though, I noticed a fat bird in the corkscrew willow tree. It hopped and kind of wobbled with each hop like it had a limp or was slightly drunk. I think this is the first red-bellied woodpecker sighting this year. Hubby says a bird is trying to make a nest on our porch.

Finally, a pretty morning that was also warm enough you didn't need a heavy jacket just to step outside.

I'm starting to believe in the possibility of spring again.

If someone asked to see my baby, I think I'd have been confused no matter how awake I was -- even if I had a dog with me. I'm one of those wierdoes who don't consider their pets their "babies." (They have their own special place, but if I thought of them as kids, I would not want them.) I'm glad to hear you are having signs of spring. Our lawn is beginning to green up with all the rain, and there are buds on a few of the trees. I'm so ready for the lush green to make a comeback!
