Writer's Block: Really, Truly

Do you believe in true love? What about love at first sight?
I do believe in true love.  I married mine.  :)

Love at first sight is possible but doesn't happen often.

I married my true love too, which is awesome :)

Do you know what else is awesome? Unexpected birthday cards from a friend. Thank you Amber :)

You're welcome! I tried to time it right but it got there a wee bit early. :)

Yes, I believe in love at first sight. Yes, I believe in true love.

Sadly, no one else does.

I do not believe that there is one single person we are destined to be with. I am sure there are many people in the world with whom we are compatible enough to fall in love with and live happily ever after. I love my husband in a way I've loved no one else, but that doesn't mean there's no one else out there I could ever love deeply. That invalidates true love for me, as you can't have more than one true love. (But if true love does exist, I'd hold my parents up as a paragon.)

Love at first sight? Nah. Attraction, crushing, infatuation, sure. Any or all of that can grow into love. But love is about so much more than what a person looks like, or your first impression of someone. Mr. Kit and I were best friends for two years before we became a couple, and I needed that emotional connection before I could feel anything like that. It didn't really matter to me what he looked like -- the fact that he's so handsome is just a bonus! But I would not have fallen for him based on what he looked like; I needed to know who he was, as well.
