Monday I took a mental health day off work. I had some work due for a Tuesday report (which is why I never go out all night on Mondays or play EQ) so I did it in the afternoon. My husband and I got to see The Manchurian Candidate which was pretty good, though it seemed familiar to me because I'd seen the original years ago. Before taking my present position we used to go out each Monday to make the day not seem so bad and give us a reason to look forward to Mondays. It was nice to get out for a change.
Tuesday I was at work late preparing for a customer visit. I made chicken apple sausages for dinner... I don't think I liked them very much. But then, I made them on the George Foreman grill and the directions said they were best when slow cooked or sauteed. I logged on to EQ and led a City of Mist raid, helping a guildie get his Spear of Fate and a friend get the epic item needed by his enchanter. Then I got to watch the stuff hit the fan on Big Brother. That was really good, but I wish Jase hadn't figured out what might happen to him ahead of time. :)
I used to think I was a reality show junkie before all these reality shows started being programmed.
Today my boss drove a co-worker and I to the northern part of our state to see one of my customers. We gave a demo of a web reporting tool and had lunch with her. She's interested in pursuing it (especially because the initial reports would be free) since it wouldn't rely on email and it would free up time for me to do other things (like go to a movie on Monday nights). I work for a technology company, and to help eliminate spam we have two mail servers running with spam filters which filter the mail on one server and then sends it to another. Tell me, why should it be considered normal for our mail to take up to two hours to get to us? I think that is silly. Silly! Maybe if we were a mom and pop shop, sure, I'd buy that.
We had lunch at Applebee's which I hadn't been to in a long time. I was good and got the Grilled Citrus Chicken Salad. It had a lot of lettuce. We got back to work early and my boss dropped us off at our cars, demanding we not enter the building to check email or anything. Sometimes he's really nice. Other times I wonder about him. I stopped at Kinko's on the way home and got a new passport picture taken. Though I won't be going to Toronto in September like I had hoped, I'm sure I'll need a renewed passport (with my married name) at some point.
