New Developments

Last night I made some lamb/beef shish kebobs and they were absolutely wonderful.  I may take some leftovers for my lunch tomorrow.

A week or two ago that Bull Terrier saw Sammy again.  He was being walked down the street towards his house and we were walking (across from his house) down the street in the opposite direction.  He saw Sammy and tried to make a run for it.  And then he wouldn't go up his front steps to his porch.  His owner was not happy.

Tonight, Sammy and I stepped onto our porch and the Bull Terrier was walking down our side street.  I saw him and his owner coming so I didn't go down the steps.  I just waited for them to pass.  The Bull Terrier saw Sammy and pulled against his leash trying to get to us.  The owner was like, "Don't even think I'm going to let you go over there" but the dog still pulled.  If they met up again I honestly don't know what would happen.

We did have a little miracle with Sammy.  We finally found  a phrase that makes him stop barking.

This morning I discovered our dehumidifier dead in the basement.  Tonight I confirmed the problem is not the outlet.  We still have the box and it says there's a 5 year warranty on it.  Now I just need to find the ziploc bag with the Lowe's receipt...

Ein's phrase is, "Einstein, ENOUGH!" Mostly I trained him not to bark with the shake can, though. He will bark on the commands, "Speak," "What'd you say?" and "Who let the dogs out?" I let him bark outside, but he doesn't bark much at all. What works for Sammy?

Zilla's phrase was "Quiet". He might grumble afterwards like he was talking under his breath but that's what he did. :)

Sammy will bark to "Speak" and he's now quiet when we tell him to "ZZZZZZZZZZZZZip it!" Most of the time anyway. Sometime's he's so worked up I don't think he hears us.
