It was nice to be able to sit down and talk with each other. That is the one thing I like about the restaurant we go to - there are no tvs to distract us from each other.
My brother is sort of working now. He's now renting equipment/lighting to local bands which includes setup and tear down. It's him and a woman who helps him. My SIL was working a seasonal part time job but they cut her hours and she's now almost at 90 days at a permanent paid position elsewhere. She said she worked the past 12 days in a row and was really tired. I can't say I blame her. It's nice to see them getting back on their feet and not have to be so stressed out about money.
My parents went grocery shopping afterwards and stopped somewhere else to eat before they drove home. Not sure what time they left the city but they got home at midnight. When they got to their area of the state (it's 45-60 minutes away) the snow had melted and turned into ice. We told them they could stay here but they thought it wouldn't be so bad.
