2005 Man Booker Prize Shortlist

The Man Booker Prize is awarded to the best novel of the year written by a citizen of the British Commonwealth or the Republic of Ireland. It is not only one of literature's highest honors but quite lucrative as the winner takes home £50,000.

The 2005 shortlist of six novels was announced yesterday, September 8, and the winner will be announced on October 10. The six finalists were first pared down from 109 entries to a longlist of 17 semi-finalists. The 2005 Man Booker Prize finalists are:

A Long Long Way by Sebastian Barry
Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
